The program supports a broad range of dance including urban, contemporary, classical and traditional dance expressions of all world cultures. It also supports projects that are designed to benefit the larger professional dance community.

The Dance Initiatives program aims to reflect the range of artistic practices in the dance community and to support excellence, regional activity, linguistic and cultural diversity and Aboriginal and Franco-Ontarian identity.
