"Those of us who love the arts, as I do, have a commitment to secure the future of our arts organizations and artists. The building of endowments is an excellent way of doing this."
– Dr. Murray Frum, Chair

Orford String Quartet Scholarship

The critically acclaimed Orford String Quartet was internationally recognized for its performances of chamber music for over 25 years.  It was one of Canada’s most illustrious chamber ensembles.

On the occasion of its final performance in 1991, funds were raised for a chamber music scholarship and an endowment was established at the Ontario Arts Foundation.  The Ontario Arts Council administers the selection process.

A scholarship is awarded annually to assist a Canadian string musician with studies, commissioning or performances related to his/her work in the chamber music field.
