Dance Showcase in Montreal

OAC has awarded a special one-time project grant of $15,000 to the Toronto Dance Theatre to coordinate and produce Canadadances.org, a dance performance showcase to run at the time of the Festival TransAmériques and International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts in Montreal. The showcase will provide Ontario dance artists and companies with access to national and international presenters and producers who will attend the festival May 31 - June 2, 2007. Participants will be selected by a national jury of dance experts.

The distribution of the arts in national and international markets is an on-going challenge for Ontario’s arts community. This initiative provides an opportunity for our dance companies to be seen by impresarios from outside of the province.

Canadadances.org has also received support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the British Columbia Arts Council.
