A Tapestry of Music

Flavours of Italy


Presented by the Grand River Baroque Festival.An afternoon of culinary and musical flavours! Travel to the main musical centre of 17th and 18th century Italy. Hear baroque trio sonatas performed by the Aradia Ensemble then eat bread dipped in olive oils from around Italy. Join the Aradia Ensemble again later on Saturday evening as they entertain guests at Peter Martin's 20 King restaurant.

Scandinavian Wordless Singing
Presented by Sarah Granskou
Join artist Sarah Granskou for an exciting musical theatre performance, and workshop in two Scandinavian styles of wordless singing: Norwegian and Swedish “tralling” and Sámi “joik”. The established and improvised wordless
melodies of joik are often affiliated with a person’s identity — somewhat like a theme song.
