“The air tingled with magic as we stepped into the entrance of the immense Thunder Bay Community auditorium. An atmosphere of anticipation filled the auditorium as we waited for the program to start. Gradually the curtains parted.
Through intricate dance motions, the artists in Vivarta: Manifestations of Vishnu depicted the mythology of Dashavatara – the ten incarnations of Vishnu.
The second feature in the program, Howzaat!, was a blend of contemporary dance techniques and the elegance of cricket. The audience was immensely entertained by the whimsical approach to this sport and its origins. The dance depicted the true meaning of cricket in South Asia , a beacon of hope in the storm of conflicts and violence.
Adding fragrance to gold, live Indian classical music was played as an accompaniment for the exhilarating dance performances. Exceptional vocals, tablas and violin, are still surely lingering in the minds of those who had the good fortune to be there on that May evening.

In addition to the touring funding, OAC supports Sampradaya Dance Creations through the dance office and the Raag-Rung Music Circle receives a grant from the music office.
