Motus O Takes North Bay by Storm!Image

During the last week of March 2006, North Bay welcomed Motus O Dance Theatre for performances and workshops.

The North Bay Capitol Centre organized a full week of Contact and Laban technique workshops with Motus O, for Widdifield High School students, for performers from the Barbara Treleaven School of Dance and Renée’s Dance Connection, as well as for the general public.

James Croker, Cynthia Croker and Jack Langenhuizen of Motus O Dance Theatre performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Capitol Centre with a cast that included some 40 local dancers as fairies in their full-length production.

The residency program gave students the opportunity to take part in a live production with a professional dance company. Programs like these encourage students to raise their standards and use the techniques in the future. Motus O Dance Theatre brought out the best in the local dancers in a supportive and fun environment.
