If You Are Awarded a Grant
Getting Your Money
If you are awarded a grant, you will receive a letter telling you the amount of your grant, along with your grant cheque. The letter will also describe any special conditions attached to your grant. In some cases, you may be required to fulfill these conditions before receiving your cheque. Note that the amount of your grant may be less than the amount you requested.
Post-Project Report
If you are awarded a grant, you are required to submit a report on your activities after the completion of your project. This is a condition of receiving a grant. These reports help us to evaluate the achievements of OAC-funded activities in the community; monitor the effectiveness of our grant programs; and report to the government how government funds are spent.
Organizations which apply to a program on an annual basis must submit their report with, or as part of, their next annual application. Individuals are required to submit a report by a due date stated in the grant notification letter.
If you are unsure about how to complete your post-project report, contact the appropriate program staff. If a complete report is not received by the due date established in the terms of the grant, OAC will be unable to process any other grant application or grant payments in your name, and may require repayment of the grant.
All individuals and organizations receiving OAC grants must also acknowledge OAC's support in their promotional materials or programs in all media. This is an important condition of receiving a grant because it informs the public of a source of support (OAC), and encourages public support for public funding of the arts.
Grant Recipients
OAC annually publishes a list of grant recipients with the names of the jurors and advisors used in the particular year. This list is available through our List of Recipients section.
