Aboriginal Artists' Materials and Supplies Assistance

Purpose

To support First Nations, Inuit and Métis artists working in the visual arts, crafts or traditional/customary Indigenous art forms to create art work. The program provides grants of $500 towards the cost of buying art materials and supplies.

Deadline Dates

Artists must apply directly to one of the participating Indigenous recommender organizations. Each organization sets its own deadline(s) or may decide to accept applications on an ongoing basis.


Anemki Art Collective, Thunder Bay

  • Deadline: November 1, 2016

Neto Hatinakwe Onkwehowe Native Arts Canada, Niagara Falls

  • Accepts applications at any time, starting in July 2016, until the budget is spent.

Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, M'Chigeeng

  • Deadlines: July 30 and September 30, 2016.

Woodland Cultural Centre, Brantford

  • Deadlines: October 14, 2016 and January 13, 2017

Once the decision has been made, recommenders forward applications to OAC.


The 2016-17 program closes on February 17, 2017.

Who is eligible

  • This program is open to First Nations, Inuit and Métis artists working in the visual arts, crafts or traditional Indigenous art forms.
  • Applicants must reside in Ontario and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
