The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has launched two new pilot programs called Market Development Travel: Dance and Market Development Travel: Northern Arts. These programs support travel for the purpose of promoting artistic work and developing relationships with arts presenters in Ontario, Canada and abroad.

Are you a dance artist or a dance company looking to build your provincial, national or international profile?

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has launched a new pilot program called Market Development Travel: Dance. This program supports travel for the purpose of promoting artistic work and developing relationships with arts presenters in Ontario, Canada and abroad.

 

Who can apply?

  • Ontario-resident professional dance artists.
  • Incorporated, not-for-profit, Ontario-based dance organizations.
  • Collectives of professional dance artists and/or arts professionals with expertise in dance.
 

What kinds of events can I travel to with this grant?

You can use this grant to attend the following types of events (as long as there will be relevant arts presenters or programmers in attendance):  
  • Performing arts showcases and festivals.
  • Networking events, conferences and symposia.
 

What kinds of expenses does this grant cover?

  • Travel expenses (e.g. transportation, accommodations, per diems).
  • Event registration costs.
  • Promotional materials.
 

It sounds like my activity is eligible! When can I apply?

  • Applications for this program are now open, and will be accepted at any time, until the program budget is spent. There is no set deadline for this program.
  • You must apply at least four weeks before the beginning of the event you are travelling to.

Supporting market development for Northern Ontario artists, collectives and arts organizations

 

Are you a Northern Ontario–based artist, arts organization or collective looking to build your provincial, national or international profile?

 

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has launched a new pilot program called Market Development Travel: Northern Arts. This program supports travel for the purpose of promoting artistic work and developing relationships with arts presenters in Ontario, Canada and abroad.

 

During this pilot, the program will be open only to Northern Ontario artists, arts organizations and collectives. “Northern Ontario” refers to the Far North, Northwest, and Northeast regions of the province, according to this map. It includes the Manitoulin, Parry Sound and Nipissing districts and all regions north of these districts.

 

Who can apply?

  • Professional artists who reside in Northern Ontario for at least eight months of the year.
  • Incorporated, not-for-profit arts organizations based in Northern Ontario.
  • Collectives where at least 50 per cent of members are Northern Ontario–based professional artists or arts professionals.
 

What kinds of events can I travel to with this grant?

You can use this grant to attend the following types of events (as long as there will be relevant arts presenters, curators, directors, programmers or publishers in attendance):

  • Art exhibitions, showcases and festivals where you will be presenting your artistic work.
  • Arts networking events, conferences and symposia.
 

What kinds of expenses does this grant cover?
