Josée Forest-Niesing appointed to the Ontario Arts Council board

Josée Forest-Niesing
Sudbury-based Josée Forest-Niesing was appointed to the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) Board of Directors in January 2018.
 

Josée is a lawyer and a former partner in the firm Lacroix Forest LLP, where she specialized in family law, civil litigation, education law and employment law, leading numerous cases through trial in Sudbury and surrounding jurisdictions, as well as in Toronto. In addition, she has also been a Superior Court of Justice Small Claims Court judge and a member of several professional associations and committees.
 

Josée is very involved in the francophone community of the Sudbury area and has volunteered with several organizations related to her profession. She is the founding chair of the Centre canadien de français juridique (CCFJ). She was chair of the board of directors for the Fédération des associations de juristes d’expression française de common law (FAJEF) from 2009 to 2011. Josée joined the board of the Art Gallery of Sudbury in 2009, was appointed as chair in 2015, and will finish her term in Spring 2018.
 

A graduate in law from the University Ottawa, Josée was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990.
