Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). OAC is committed to the principles of accountability, transparency, and openness, while safeguarding privacy and personal information.
Freedom of Information (FOI) Requests
A Freedom of Information (FOI) request is an official written request for information from an organization covered by FIPPA.
Requests made under FIPPA must be submitted in writing and provide sufficient detail for OAC to understand the type of information desired.
Each request made under FIPPA for either FOI to general records or Personal Information requests must be accompanied with a $5.00 application fee to be processed. Fees must be made by cheque or money order payable to the Ontario Arts Council, or by cash (in-person at OAC’s Toronto office only).
If you decide to submit a formal request or a correction to information under FIPPA, you will need to complete OAC’s
Access or Correction to Information Request Form.
For more information about making an FOI request, please see our
Frequently Asked Questions.
For further assistance, please contact OAC’s FOI Coordinator. They can also let you know if you can get the information you’re seeking without making a formal FOI request.
