Final Report Forms

All final reports are completed and submitted in Nova, OAC’s online granting system. This now includes grants received through a paper application process. Ontario Dances

This program has been suspended for the current year. There will be no deadline for this program in 2019.


The program supports the promotion of the diversity of Ontario-based professional dance artists and dance companies to Ontarians in regions outside of Toronto, and its vitality with a growing audience.


New applicants must contact the program officer for information about the application and selection process.

Grant amount(s)

  • Multidisciplinary Arts Presenters: maximum $30,000

Eligible applicants

  • Multidisciplinary arts presenters who:
    • are based in regions outside of Toronto
    • have a permanent physical address in Ontario
    • present an annual performing arts series
    • have an employee or contracted person responsible for the performing arts programming

Ineligible applicants

  • organizations that receive OAC operating grants
  • organizations that apply to or have not received notification that their application is unsuccessful in the following programs: Ontario Arts Presenters Projects or Diffusion – projets francophones
  • dance-specific presenters
  • performing arts festivals

This program funds

  • presentation of Ontario-based professional dance artists and dance companies
  • costs for audience development and community-engaged activities
  • Ontario-based dance animator fees
  • Ontario-based dance artists’ and companies’ engagement fees and touring costs

This program does not fund

  • creating, commissioning, co-producing and rehearsing a dance work
  • overhead costs, including office rent and administration
  • major capital expenditures, including buying, leasing or renovating buildings and purchase of major equipment

Program-specific definitions

Community-engaged dance projects: dance projects led by Ontario-based professional dance artists that engages volunteers, audience members, donors and/or local community groups. The collective experience and public presentation emphasize that the integrity of the process is as important as the end product

Dance animator: a person who facilitates audience- and community-development programs and activities

Multidisciplinary performing arts presenter: an organization that selects artistic programming for public presentation, pays a guaranteed artist fee for each presentation and covers the presentation costs
