Ahnee, Boozhoo. The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) is pleased to announce that Darlene Naponse is the new interim Northeastern Consultant. Darlene is working part-time out of OAC’s Sudbury office on a one-year contract.
Darlene will be OAC’s representative in the Northeast, serving artists and arts organizations in Sudbury, Timmins, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Manitoulin Island, Hearst and surrounding communities. Her role includes raising awareness about OAC programs and services, and providing guidance around OAC grant applications.
About Darlene Naponse
Darlene Naponse is an Anishinaabe from Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. She is an accomplished filmmaker, writer and community advocate whose work has taken her to many First Nations communities, cities and towns. Darlene's films have screened at film festivals around the world including the Sundance International Film Festival. She is the owner of Pine Needle Productions, a film/video and audio recording studio located on her reserve.
