Lilly Obina named to Ontario Arts Council board of directors

Ottawa-based Lilly Obina has been appointed to the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) board of directors.

“We are delighted to welcome Lilly to OAC’s board of directors,” said Rita Davies, OAC Chair. “Lilly’s business and IT expertise, her work in the public sector, as well as her community engagement, will serve her well in the broad governance role of the OAC board.”

Lilly brings a deep commitment to public service. She is a supporter of the Uganda Association of Ottawa and is active with the African-Canadian Children's Choir, an after-school program for children. She also teaches traditional African dance to children in her community. (read more…)


The Ontario Arts Council has a 12-member government-appointed board of directors that is responsible for oversight of OAC’s granting process, including policies and decision-making. In 2019-20, the Ontario Arts Council invested $51.9 million in 197 communities across Ontario through 1,965 grants to individual artists and 1,152 grants to organizations.
