Rita Davies reappointed Chair and Dani Peters appointed Vice-Chair

The Government of Ontario has named Ontario Arts Council (OAC) board member Dani Peters as Vice-Chair, following the summer reappointment Rita Davies as OAC Chair.
 

“I am delighted to have been reappointed to the OAC board,” said Rita Davies, CM, OAC Chair. “The work of this organization has always been essential to Ontario’s arts community and even more so now, while we strive to support artists and arts organizations within the context of a pandemic.”

“The Ontario Arts Council is important to the province’s arts infrastructure and I am pleased to be able to work with my dedicated volunteer board colleagues in this new role,” said Dani Peters, OAC Vice-Chair.

About Rita Davies

Rita Davies was first appointed Chair of the Ontario Arts Council’s board of directors on July 22, 2015 and reappointed for a third term on July 29, 2021. Rita is well-known in Toronto’s arts community in her former role as Director of Culture for the City of Toronto from 1999 to 2012 and before that at the Toronto Arts Council where she was known for spearheading diverse and inclusive programs. In honour of her leadership and dedication to the arts, Rita was named to the Order of Canada in 2020.
