Temporary Program for Artists and Presenters Working Together on Projects
The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) is announcing a granting program designed to support collaborative initiatives developed by artists and the arts presenters that engage them. Activities funded through the program will develop sustainable ways of sharing artistic works with audiences and communities within Ontario or across the country and abroad during this period when physical touring is not possible.
The one-time program, called Artist-Presenter Collaboration Projects, will support partnerships in all artistic disciplines that nurture audience engagement and activities that can safely take place during the pandemic. The Artist-Presenter Collaboration Projects deadlines replace the suspended 2021 Touring and Market Development program deadlines.
The program funds market development, artist-presenter exchanges, and audience engagement activities. These can include
- virtual or digital activities, in-person presentations that can happen safely, and touring that conforms to travel and public gathering restrictions;
- activities that help artists build and sustain collaborative relationships with presenters;
- resource-sharing and capacity-building activities to grow audiences and reach new markets;
- new models of presentation, exhibition and dissemination of artistic work, and new audience experiences that can be sustained in a pandemic context and beyond.
Projects require a partnership between at least one artist, ad hoc group, artist collective or arts organization and one or more arts presenters.
The deadlines for this program are April 27, 2021 and October 28, 2021.
