Nova login process now includes two-factor authentication

July 4, 2023

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has introduced two-factor authentication to log into Nova, our online grant application system. This is a standard feature now used by many organizations to verify users’ identity when they are signing into an online platform.

The first factor is your existing Nova password. After logging in as usual, you will see a page asking for a six-digit code, which is the second factor. This code will be sent immediately and automatically to the email address that you used to log in.

Copy and paste the six-digit code into Nova to complete the two-factor authentication process. The code will expire after 10 minutes, but if you need a new one, you can click on the “Resend Code by Email” button.

You will be required to go through this process each time you log into Nova, with a new six-digit code generated each time. However, you can also choose the option of “Don’t ask again for this device for 30 days” if you are using a trusted device.

For more detailed instructions about logging into and using Nova, please see the Nova User Guide, or contact the staff member listed on the web page for the program to which you are applying.
