Overview
Working in partnership, OAC and participating partners bring artists and teachers together to plan and implement a creative process in which to engage students.
Roles
OAC provides support in designing a partner’s AIR(E) initiative and collaborates with partners on the final selection of the artists. OAC provides funding to partners and while this funding is primarily directed to artist fees, it can also include travel and material expenses.
Partners provide teacher release time, administrative support for participating teachers and artists, and opportunities for teachers and artists to meet for planning and evaluation of classroom projects.
Getting Started
We recommend you look at previous classroom and partner projects to see what teachers and artists have done with their students. To assist in the planning of a large-scale project, take a look at the
Administrator Resources.
Classroom Resources provides examples of artist-teacher specific planning tools.
Accessing Funding
If you are part of a school board or First Nations education authority or are a teacher not currently involved in the AIR(E) project, you can use the resources on this site as you plan arts learning initiatives.
