Jill Reitman and Karim Karsan appointed to the Ontario Arts Council board

Toronto residents Jill Reitman and Karim Karsan have been appointed to the board of the Ontario Arts Council (OAC).

Over the years, Jill has maintained a longtime commitment to many community organizations. Between 2008 and 2015, Jill was chair, vice-chair and a board member of the Koffler Centre of the Arts. In addition to her interest in the arts, she has served as president of the Jewish Women’s Federation, chair of the Business and Professional Women’s Network, and has been on human rights advocacy boards including the Canadian Council for Israel and Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre.

Karim Karsan

Karim Karsan

Karim has more than 15 years of experience working in the public sector having previously held leadership roles for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the Ontario Energy Board. Currently, he heads up the compliance area at Interac.

In 2015 Karim was a member of the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema Capital Campaign Cabinet. He has also served on the board of directors for Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. In addition, he has was vice-chair of Casey House Capital Campaign, and chair of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). Read more

 
 

Role of OAC's Board of Directors

The OAC's board is responsible for setting the Council’s policies and overseeing its operation. They are appointed by the government of Ontario for a three-year term that may be renewed. Board members come from various regions of the province and play an important role as advocates for the arts and as representatives of OAC in Ontario communities. Read more
