Clelia Farrugia, OAC theatre officer, departs for new role
OAC theatre officer Clelia Farrugia will be stepping down from her current role next month to join the Canada Council for the Arts as a program officer for the Arts Across Canada and Arts Abroad section in August.
Clelia joined OAC in 2015 as the interim associate Francophone arts officer. In 2016, she was named Francophone arts officer and then appointed theatre officer in 2020. Clelia’s in-depth knowledge of the arts in an international context and then her experience within Canada has made her a valued member of OAC’s officer team.
Prior to her OAC roles, Clelia worked for the former European Music Office and the European Commission’s European Education and Culture Executive Agency in Brussels. After moving to Canada in 2007, she worked for various arts organizations including the Glenn Gould Foundation, the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT), and Le Laboratoire d’art (Le Labo), Toronto's francophone media arts centre.
Clelia’s last day at OAC will be July 7, 2023. The search for a new theatre officer will begin in the coming weeks.
Congratulations to Clelia on the next chapter in her career!
